A Brand-New Luxury All-Inclusive

Opening in March 2027, UNICO 18°77° Montego Bay brings the UNICO experience to Jamaica for the first time.

This new adults-only boutique all-inclusive resort is designed around a sophisticated but relaxed approach to luxury, with an emphasis on Jamaican culture and a sense of place. Set along the shores of Montego Bay, the resort will incorporate locally inspired cuisine, music, art and wellness into the experience.

Guests can expect thoughtfully designed rooms and suites, multiple restaurants, bars and lounges and Esencia Spa, with experiences intended to feel connected to Jamaica rather than interchangeable with another Caribbean resort.

Why UNICO Montego Bay Is on Our Radar

We already know the UNICO brand, but we're particularly excited about this opening because Jennifer will be staying at the new Montego Bay property in April 2027.

That means we'll be able to experience the resort shortly after it opens and bring firsthand knowledge back to our clients. The Great Jamaica Comeback:
Three Sandals Resorts Reimagined

Sandals is also making a major investment in Jamaica.

Following Hurricane Melissa, Sandals Montego Bay, Sandals Royal Caribbean and Sandals South Coast remained closed while restoration work continued. Instead of simply repairing the properties, Sandals announced a $200 million investment to extensively reimagine all three resorts.

The first will begin welcoming guests again in November 2026, with the other two following in December.

Sandals South Coast — Reopening November 18, 2026

Surrounded by a 500-acre nature reserve, Sandals South Coast has long offered a quieter Jamaica experience where lush landscapes meet the Caribbean Sea.

The reimagined resort will introduce a refreshed waterfront pool experience, new landscaping and new dining options, including Butch's Island Chophouse and Blum Coffee Bar.

Sandals Montego Bay — Reopening December 18, 2026

The original Sandals resort is getting a new chapter.

Sandals Montego Bay will reopen with a completely redesigned pool, refreshed programming and new dining experiences while retaining its setting along Jamaica's largest private white-sand beach.

One of the new additions is Buccan, a restaurant concept centered around island ingredients served family-style.

Its Montego Bay location also makes this an appealing option for travelers who want to get from the airport to vacation mode quickly.

Sandals Caribbean Cay — Reopening December 18, 2026

If Sandals Caribbean Cay doesn't sound familiar yet, there's a reason: this is the new name for Sandals Royal Caribbean.

Along with the new identity comes a substantially refreshed resort experience. Sandals is introducing upgraded accommodations, new culinary concepts and updated beachside spaces while maintaining one of the property's defining features—its private offshore island.
